What to Expect on Sundays...
The worship of God has been practiced by believers for hundreds and hundreds of years. The history of worship styles is very long and varied.
When you come to worship on Sunday mornings, you will join with others in that long tradition. Here at CUMC, we worship God through a blend of both traditional practices and contemporary worship styles- this means we sing praises to God with both the organ and with a praise band. Each service also includes times of prayer as well as instruction from Scripture..
Because we belong to such a long and beautiful tradition of worship, we incorporate many different practices into our services of worship, including: hymns, praise songs, special music, drama, dance, video, liturgical readings, as well as the sacraments of Baptism and Communion.
Communion, or the Lord's Supper, or Eucharist, is observed typically on the first Sunday of each month. Our Communion table is open to all who desire to take of the bread and the cup and experience God's grace.
