This week, at South By South West 2013 (an annual music, film, and interactive conference in Austin, TX), a new social media app was unveiled. Its title? “Hater.” Its purpose? To be a networking platform where people can “share their grievances rather than post about all their favorite things.” Basically, this is a new way for people to express, and rant about the things, or people, that they hate. But why? Why do we need an entire app for people to talk about things they hate? Don’t people already do that already on Facebook and Twitter? It’s interesting, isn't it? People like talking about things they don’t like. In fact, people really like talking about things they hate. It’s part of human nature, I think. We like complaining. We like talking bad about things and people. And we really love having an audience for it. Hating is just something we like doing!
But does it have to be? What if, instead of hating, we loved things for a change? Instead of complaining about all the things that drive us crazy or annoy us, why don’t we talk about the good? What would happen if we didn’t hate so much, but instead loved things more…and talked about that? I wonder what would happen if we switched our focus. Would it change our moods? Would it change our outlook on life? What would your life look like if you hated less, and loved more? Haters gonna hate. Maybe… But what would happen if we become lovers of this life that God has blessed us with? And if we talked about that instead? What would happen in your own life if you focused more on loving than hating? What about in our church? What do you think?

The main role of student guidance is to prepare them with life matters and challenges they are likely to encounter. This may be in areas related to personal life, career and social life. Any student who is satisfactorily guided becomes more aware of their needs and are able to manage their self-esteem with ease.
