This past Sunday, January 27, 2013, CUMC celebrated Reunion Sunday. We spent weeks preparing for this day of Celebrating our past, Rejoicing in our present, and Anticipating our future. Our purpose for this day was to highlight the mission and ministry of God in this church community for its 147 year history. AND, we wanted to show that we are a church that is alive!
In a prophecy given to Ezekiel, in the Old Testament, God says that He will reunite His people, He will bring them back from the places that they have been scattered. They will be one nation, under on King, with one purpose (37:21-23). That purpose is stated very clearly in verse 23: “They will once again be my people, and I will be their God.” You will be my people. I will be your God.
